Driver Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for driving a truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Some duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives truck to destination
- Loads and unloads truck
- Secures cargo for transit
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. Check fluid levels daily.
- Maintain cab folder/trailer paperwork which should include: Insurance, Permits IN/KY/OH, IFTA (paperwork and stickers), Annual Inspections (paperwork and stickers), Lease Agreement, Cab Card, Trailer Cab Card, Trailer Inspection Sticker, Trailer Inspection Paperwork.
- Maintain truck e-log on company provided tablets and complete daily.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Maintain a clean truck; wash truck weekly.
- Regard the Yard Speed Limit of 8 MPH.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
The employee must be able to lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
